- Led and supported human resources and employee relations of site management and headed delivery of functional, safety, and proficiency trainings for 2,000 employees at 10 company (Inco) plants across Ontario to achieve production objectives, as well as workforce objectives
- Directed team that authored Contractor Orientation handbook to detail PPE requirements for Surface and Mines affecting 4,000 employees
- Administered Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and ensured systematic approach to training, coaching and mentoring employees
- Administered and delivered education in the roll out of human resources/labour relations processes and initiatives consisting of management rights, corrective action, dispute resolution training, investigations, and other processes defined by CBAs
Michelle Parent is an HR expert with over two decades of leadership, learning & development, safety, and HR experience. Michelle is highly skilled in process improvement, data analysis, labour relations, team supervision, and building robust relationships with stakeholders to optimize business outcomes. As an HR Professional, she has worked with large and small organizations in various stages of their business cycles. She has experience with: Human Resources policy development and implementation; benefits design and management; compliance; employee relations and performance management; HR strategy development and implementation; recruitment; compensation. Her passion is to help you build HR solutions by providing infrastructure based on technology, compliance, and, most importantly, people.
Michelle completed one year of the study of Psychology at Laurentian University. In 1995-1996 she attended Cambrian College’s Ambulance and Emergency Care program, and in 1999 she completed the Nursing Assistant program. In 2004, she graduated from the Leader 21 program, and authored the Corporate First Aid Manual at and for Inco; she is also trained in CISM: Critical Incident Stress Management. In 2001, she was awarded a full time position at Inco as a Plant Protection Officer; from then, she has been promoted to Group Leader of Plant Protection Services (2004), Group Leader of Business Systems (2006), and Superintendent of Learning and Development (2009). In 2016, she was promoted to an HR Business Partner for the Sudbury and Port Colborne operations. In 2019, she expanded her employment to include the Quebec Bearn site of Rayonier Advance Materials, where she formulated a world-class HR department by positioning HR as strategic business partner in areas comprising of absenteeism management, performance management, coaching, training, labour relations, recruitment, continuous improvement, conflict resolution, and workforce planning.
